July 2010
Hi everyone, and sorry for the long spell away from the updates. I haven't been slacking, just keeping up a little more on Facebook, and since I was home for a good long spell, it didn't sink in that I need to keep the website up to date as well. So here goes anyway:
I left home June 23 for this latest tour that has already included Ohio, where on my very first event, I brought down the house (tent actually) literally when the storm came and lifted the huge tent and dropped it on me and everyone else. What a sight, especially for me, suddenly seeing open sky above me, and then draped in tent. Rain bucketing down soaked the stage and sound gear...thankfully someone quicky pulled the plug, or else I might not have been here to write this. No one was injured except for a woman hit by a pole.
My theme for that day (and quite possibly now the tour and season): Get ready cuz storms are coming! I felt like God was putting an accent on that (confirmation).
So now just winding up the Ontario portion which has been a wonderful 2-3 weeks in north and south, and besides wonderful concerts and services (a woman just last Sun. a.m. rededicated her life to Christ), there's been some wonderful reunions with friends along the way.
So now July 26 off to Europe, and I'll be in Romania/Bulgaria til Oct. 1, then in Austria/Czech Rep, til Oct. 22, then Germany/Switzerland til end of Nov.
God has been stirring me and within me the same life changing themes, of Sacred Romance, Epic Battle, and Grand Adventure, that have so moved and stirred me these last 5 years or more. But in addition, as I mentioned earlier, I am feeling a warning to accompany the encouragement of these themes, and that is that dangerous times (storms) are upon us in this world, and if we are not deeply in love with, and grounded in God, the Trinity, we will be swept away to destruction. I sense an urgency for us to prepare now, and I can think of nothing smart or eloquent to say in regard to it, except, to fall in love with Christ, get close and stay close. Hold on for dear life to him, hold everything else loosely. It will yet be dangerous, but holding on to Christ, we will get home. He will get us home. Also, don't hunker down, as might be the knee jerk response, but live boldly and shine brightly for Jesus. He is coming soon.
Press in, press on dear friends.
