Hi family and friends, I'll just briefly fill you in on the weekend in
Toronto attending the Maja awards. It's Mon. afternoon now and I'm still in
Toronto and flying home tomorrow. I was nominated for 6 awards, and as the
old saying goes, you can't win them all, and I didn't but I am blessed to
be flying home with 2 awards. I won for best producer, and best video, so
really the awards belong to others than just me, in fact, likely more to
them and their work. The video was made by some dear folks in Romania,
Florin and Simona Vancea and their team, and my co-producer, Chris Janz is
the genius behind most of the production issues, so my deep gratitude and
congratulations passed on to these dear friends.
The evening itself was a rather long and warm, drawn out affair (at least
for someone like me unused to sitting for long periods esp. in a tux),
starting about an hour late and running about 4 hours long. But good people
and I was honored to be a part of it.
I want also to thank all of you who cast your vote my way. The host
announced votes coming in from all over, besides Canada, naming
specifically New Zealand and Australia. I'm quite sure, tho I didn't win
this 'people's choice' catagory, he was referring to many of my votes, as
I'm aware at least of votes coming in from New Zealand, Australia, Germany,
Austria, Switzerland, Romania, Malaysia, Cyprus, and of course Canada, and
hopefully South Africa and USA. So maybe I received if not the most votes,
the greatest variety of votes, and for this again, my deep gratitude.
Finally, I am happy to receive these awards, but honestly the joy and
fulfillment I receive from one nite of ministry where peoples' hearts are
touched by God's Spirit, whether a group of many or few, is infinately
greater than what joy was experienced receiving these awards. I am however,
hanging out for that great day of our heavenly and eternal reward, and
encourage us all to press on for this prize as well.
