June 2006
Yikes, it's June/06 already (barely tho) and it's way past hi-time for an update. For some reason my last one from Sept./05, has been misplaced after being up here for awhile, just so you don't think I'm that slack and haven't updated for over a year.
Okay...so I will recap from mid 2005 then, which was about the time(June 15) I left Canada for my long eight and a half month tour down under. I was in New Zealand(N.Z.) for the first 3 mo.'s(June to Sept.), then to Australia for 2 mo.'s(Sept.-Nov.) and then back to N.Z. for another 3 mo.'s, finishing off with 2 wks in L.A. enroute home in late Feb./06.
For the most part, I was on the move every week if not every few days, thru-out N.Z. on both islands(most of you may know of my deep love and affinity for N.Z., and in Australia, primarily in Brisbane and Sydney areas. So I had the summer and winter in N.Z. and a spring in Australia. Both places saw God's wonderful touch and presense in all the events, and as is my prayer and heart's desire, many lives were touched and stirred. My time in Australia ranked as one of my best there. I guess that may be true of N.Z. too, but there's been so many great times there, it's really hard to say.
Now something very special to me regarding this tour, as I mentioned in my missing update, was that I turned 50 yrs. old the first week into it, and I think I've announced my age at every opportunity since. I love being 50. Besides being my first time there, I think it's due to an renewed awareness and deeper understanding in recent years, of this child-like heart that we all are meant to carry thru life. Jesus said unless we become like little children, we can't even enter His kingdom. We tend to grow up and take on synicism and skepticism quite naturally in this world, but I believe we must fight for our hearts, and guard them, so that like a child, we can still dream, imagine, be full of wander and awe, and believe, with a faith that is vibrant, alive and full of color. Doesn't that sound awesome? Well, it is, and it's a huge battle to live that way. But this is how I wish, and choose to live my life.
This made up a good part of the message that came out of my heart thru music and word over this tour, and will continue to, as I travel, minister, and write new songs in the future. Jesus came to restore our hearts and give us life to the full.
So I've been home the last 3 months, and it's been busy with the release of my latest C.D.(Life on Purpose) in late Feb./06. I had done much of the work on it before leaving for the 'down under' tour. I have also just done a lot of the work on another new album, slated for early 2007 release, called 'Journey of the Heart'. And I am preparing to be off soon again for 5 months, leaving in early July. This will begin with 2 weeks in Ontario, Canada, and then I'll be off to Romania for two and a half mo.'s(til Oct. 10). From there I'll have 3 weeks in Austria, doing pub and church concerts, and then to Germany, Switzerland, and possibly France and Holland in November. I will plan to return home in early Dec/06.
As always, I so appreciate all your interest, support and prayers at every point. This tour will be about fighting for hearts, shining the light of Christ in dark and dim corners, and awakening many to the glorious gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Bless you all, Sealion(Rob)
